A United Kingdoms-based shipping line has introduced a direct container service connecting three cities in Europe with Jacksonville, with the Jacksonville Port Authority saying consumer goods and forest products will be among the items carried. Ellerman City Liners will call on Jacksonville twice a week as part of a itinerary that starts in Antwerp and makes calls in Rotterdam and Tilbury, England, before heading across the Atlantic. The ship will arrive in Jacksonville after calling in New York and Wilmington, North Carolina, a trip that will take about two weeks.
